Delivering results fast when buyers search is one of the most important things we can do to make buyers happy and boost sales on eBay—especially during the busy holiday shopping season.
That’s why starting November 9 we’re removing two graphic elements from the search results page that are not widely used by buyers, but take extra time to load.
1. The Get More Results module at the bottom is being removed. However, the “See additional items from eBay Stores…” will still be there as a text link in the same location.
2. The Matching eBay Stores module in the left navigation that displays individual eBay Stores is being removed. There will still be a text link to “See all matching eBay Stores” in the same location.
We’ve seen repeatedly that the speed of search results is clearly related to sales volume on eBay. We’ve tested both these changes and saw a significant increase in speed with very little impact on how buyers search. It’s one small change that can go a long way to keep holiday shoppers coming back.
Sincerely,
Gene Cook
